Grow (a poem)

Grow (poem)

I’m a flower

Struggling to grow in a too-small environment.

I’m meant to grow tall in an open field.

But they’d rather stick me in a jar.

And say, “no, we don’t want you to get that big

Because then you won’t fit here anymore.

And you’ll leave.

And we…I don’t want you to leave.

I love you.

Stay here with me.

It’ll be cozy.

Please, don’t grow.”
